Single Stream Recycling

The new single stream recycling service will start the week of Oct. 3rd.  Residents will continue to use their current blue recycling bins until the new program starts in October. At that time they will have the option of returning the old recycle bin or keeping it.  Residents will be able to recycle 21 different items co-mingled in the new 96 gallon Blue cart. Service for single stream will be every other week. Garbage collection will remain every week.

Post Falls Recycling Project 2010

The City received a $5,000 grant from Phil Damiano of Post Falls Sanitation to
promote recycling and to find ways to lessen the impact on our landfills. The City used the grant funds to encourage recycling of paper, plastic and aluminum
cans by making recycle bins and reusable grocery bags available to citizens at the city hall campus. Recycling bins were installed at City Hall, including 2 recycling bins outside City Hall for aluminum cans and 3 recycling bins in the rotunda for newspapers, plastic bottles and aluminum cans. The City gave out free reusable grocery bags to citizens beginning Monday, Nov. 16, as a kick-off event for “America Recycles Day” to promote recycling in the community.
