The City of Post Falls is accepting applications for a Full Time Building Inspector. The position is responsible for the inspection and review of construction plans and documents to ensure compliance with City building codes and ordinances pertaining to building construction. This is a journey level Inspector position which is overseen by the Building Team Lead and under the general supervision of the Public Services Director. Considerable latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative.
Required experience and training includes an Associate’s Degree or two (2) years technical training in construction management or related field with four (4) years of related experience in construction or related profession. Special qualifications include ICC Building Inspector Certification on date of hire, ICC Mechanical Inspector Certification within six (6) months of hire, and a valid driver’s license. Starting wage: $17.74/ hour plus an excellent benefits package.

The City of Post Falls Police Departmenet is accepting applications for lateral and/or post-certifiable officers for code enforcement.  Performs police work including public service and community involvement: civil stand-bys, vehicle inspections, emergency notifications and other related duties as directed. patrols the city, being observant for likely targets of crime, and attempting to eliminate opportunities for the commission of crimes. issues citations, warnings and when appropriate makes arrest and transports prisoners. Takes reports and performs follow- up investigations when needed. Performs other related tasks as required to fulfill the position of a police officer.  Starting pay for officers is $ 21.74 per hour. The City of Post Falls is accepting applications for temporary Park Workers for seasonal work in the City parks. The position performs maintenance and service work on City parks, buildings and grounds, including equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems.
Minimum requirements; High school graduate or equivalent; valid driver’s license; one year prior experience operating maintenance equipment or performing construction tasks; capable of lifting 75 pounds unassisted. Class B CDL and/or pesticide license preferred. May be subject to Drug Testing. $10.26 PH. No benefits.

The City of Post Falls is accepting applications for a full time Police Department Specialist. Job duties include a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support the City’s Police Department; entering data and maintaining police records, files, preparing daily arrest and citation packets for court and responding to public information requests. Accuracy and attention to detail are important, as well as the ability to interact will with the public. Additional responsibilities will include processing and conducting criminal histories and background checks; entering data into the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and performing various accounting related tasks, balancing, reconciling reports, checks, deposit funds, etc. This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalency, good working knowledge of a variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets, and two years clerical experience; preferably in a legal, law enforcement, or court office setting. The wage is $11.19 per hour with an excellent benefit package.
