Position: PARKS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

DUTIES INCLUDE: The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform personnel management, scheduling and direct staff to successfully maintain the City’s parks and facilities. The employee supervises Park Maintenance Workers, Seasonal Park Maintenance Workers and Park Aide positions completing a diverse range of tasks. Critical to this position is the ability to plan, supervise, coordinate, inspect and evaluate the condition and maintenance of all City Parks. The position is under the direct supervision of the Parks Division Manager within the Parks & Recreation Department, although considerable latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties are perfomed in an outdoor environment and within public buildings.
Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
with at least three (3) years of experience in landscape or park maintenance
with administration and supervisory experience and a valid Driver’s License.
Must possess or have ability to obtain Class A CDL without airbrake
restrictions, Idaho Professional Applicators License, NRPA Playground
Safety Inspector Certification and First Aid and CPR Certification within one
(1) year of hire. Position is subject to Drug Testing.
Pay Range: $20.20 - $22.00/Hr/DOE

The principal duties of the position are performed in an enclosed ticket booth and in an outdoor environment. Starting wage is $9.33/Hr.

Position: LIFEGUARD

DUTIES INCLUDE: The primary function of an employee in this class is to monitor public use of the beach and swimming area, including performing in rescue, emergency, and first aid situations; answering inquiries from the public; Maintaining safety equipment. The work is performed under the direct supervision of a Recreation Supervisor, Beach Manager or Head Lifeguard. The principal duties of this class are performed in an outdoor aquatic environment that may include working in adverse weather conditions.

The position performs a variety of water related recreation and safety duties on an open water beach. Must possess current first aid and CPR certification and lifeguard certification. Must have excellent swimming abilities and have the strength to drag unconscious weight up to 200 pounds. Must be at least 16 years old.
Pay Range: $8.00-$9.50/Hr/DOE.

Position: CAMP COUNSELOR

DUTIES INCLUDE: The primary function of a camp counselor is to plan and supervise day camp activities, interact with campers and their parents, and provide an outdoor enrichment program. The position is under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, although some latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of the position are performed outdoors and are subject to inclement weather conditions.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old. Previous experience with children, including camp, youth leadership, or babysitting, is preferred but not required. Must enjoy working with children and have the ability to communicate, organize & supervise activities for 5 -14 year olds effectively. Must also have the ability to attain First Aid and CPR certification within the first month after the start of camp. Must be able to hike a minimum of 1 mile and bike a minimum of 2 miles and be an active participant in games that may require running, jumping and climbing.
Pay Range: $8 - $9/Hr/DOE.

Position: EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (E.C.O)

DUTIES INCLUDE: Answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police officers, operating teletype computer, two-way radio & performing receptionist duties for the PD. Employees in this position must have the ability to work under stressful conditions, communicate effectively, good typing and clerical skills and experience working with the public. Familiarity with city locations is necessary. Emergency Communications Officers for the City of Post Falls work varying shifts, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be available for all days and shifts.
