Position: Electrical/Building Inspector

The City of Post Falls is accepting applications for a Journeyman Level Electrical/Building Inspector to perform technical office review of building and site plans and to perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with City ordinances, state, and other applicable codes regarding: electrical and/or building, with a primary focus on Electrical Inspection with cross training in building inspection at a later date. This is a journey level Inspector position which is overseen by the Building Supervisor and under the general supervision of the Public Services Director. Considerable latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative.

Required experience and training includes: State Licensed Journey-man Electrician and minimum 4 years journeyman experience with an Associate’s Degree in related field or two (2) years technical training in with four (4) years of related experience in construction or profession. Cross training qualifications will include ICC Building Inspector Certification and ICC Mechanical Inspector Certification within six (6) months of hire, and a valid driver’s license. Starting wage: $20.31/ hour plus an excellent benefits package.

 

Position: Emergency Communications Officer (E.C.O)

Duties Include: Answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police officers, operating teletype computer, two-way radio & performing receptionist duties for the PD. Employees in this position must have the ability to work under stressful conditions, communicate effectively, good typing and clerical skills and experience working with the public. Familiarity with city locations is necessary. Emergency Communications Officers for the City of Post Falls work varying shifts, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be available for all days and shifts.

Necessary Special Requirements:
Employees in this position are required to attend school/training as assigned. Must possess the ability to work closely with other department personnel and have a neat and clean appearance. Ability to effectively listen, retain and discern information; communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Selection process consists of an oral board interview, complete & thorough background investigation, poly graph exam & final interview with the chief of police. Position: Seasonal Parks Assistant/Ticket Taker

The City of Post Falls seeks Seasonal Parks Assistant/Ticket Taker for Q’emiln City Park. Position is approximately 25 – 35 hours per week. Primary duties include: Selling park admission tickets and passes and performing cash management duties in park ticket booth; providing information to public; cleaning restrooms, moving picnic tables and trash cans and park areas. Requires: Good customer service skills, ability to count and balance money. 16 or older. $7.92 per hour.

The City of Post Falls is accepting applications for temporary Park Workers for seasonal work in the City parks. The position performs maintenance and service work on City parks, buildings and grounds, including equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems.

Minimum requirements; High school graduate or equivalent; valid driver’s license; one year prior experience operating maintenance equipment or performing construction tasks; capable of lifting 75 pounds unassisted. Class B CDL and/or pesticide license preferred. May be subject to Drug Testing. $10.77 PH. No benefits.

Day Camp Counselors work with children in an outdoor environment,
leading games, crafts, swimming and nature activities based on weekly
themes. Must be at least 17 years old. Previous experience with children, including camp, youth leadership, or babysitting, is preferred but not required. Works under the supervision of the Camp Director and other assigned staff. Pay Range: $8 - $9 per hour/DOE.

The city of post falls police department is accepting applications for lateral and/or post-certifiable officers for code enforcement.
General statement of duties:  Performs police work including public service and community involvement: civil stand-bys, vehicle inspections, emergency notifications and other related duties as directed. Patrols the city, being observant for likely targets of crime, and attempting to eliminate opportunities for the commission of crimes. Issues citations, warnings and when appropriate makes arrest and transports prisoners. Takes reports and performs follow- up investigations when needed. Performs other related tasks as required to fulfill the position of a police officer.
Acceptable education and experience:  Applicants must be a citizen of the united states, must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, must be currently certified as a law enforcement officer, currently enrolled or have successfully completed the north Idaho college basic patrol academy and have a strong background in community involvement. Must be 21 yo and have a valid driver’s license and 2 yrs of related experience. Conviction or withheld judgment of any state, local or federal crime may be grounds for rejection.
