Position: Camp Counselor

DUTIES INCLUDE: The primary function of a camp counselor is to plan and supervise day camp activities, interact with campers and their parents, and provide an outdoor enrichment program. The position is under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, although some latitude is allowed for independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of the position are performed outdoors and are subject to inclement weather conditions.
Must be at least 17 years old. Previous experience with children, including camp, youth leadership, or babysitting, is preferred but not required. Works under the supervision of the Camp Director and other assigned staff. Must enjoy working with children and have the ability to communicate, organize & supervise activities for 5 -14 year olds effectively. Must also have the ability to attain First Aid and CPR certification within the first month after the start of camp. Must be able to hike a minimum of 1 mile and bike a minimum of 2 miles and be an active participant in games that may require running, jumping and climbing.
Pay Range: $8 - $9/Hr/DOE

Position: Seasonal Engineering Technician

DUTIES INCLUDE:
The principal function of an employee in this class is to assist the city engineering staff with engineering duties including assisting with construction site inspections, plan and permit reviews, updating city maps and records, , and assisting in traffic analysis. This is an entry level seasonal civil engineering technician position requiring inspection, drafting and plan review skills. Work involves the use of engineering techniques and concepts to interpret designs and applicable regulations. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the City Engineer or assigned supervisor, with limited latitude granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in an office and field environment.
Starting wage: $14.81/Hr

Position: LATERAL OR ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

DUTIES INCLUDE:
The principal function of an employee in this class is to enforce state and local laws and ordinances, respond to calls for the protection of life and property, conduct criminal and non-criminal investigations, to make arrests and perform other assigned law enforcement and public safety  duties.   Duties normally  consist  of patrol and traffic activities  in the City on an assigned shift. Officers may be delegated to assignments  in specialized  areas such as neighborhood services, community services, criminal investigations services, administration,  field training, firearms  training,  special  weapons  and  tactical  (SWAT) team, or other  assignment. Work is performed under the general direction of a supervising Sergeant. Considerable latitude is granted to the employee but work  is subject  to periodic performance audits and annual evaluations. The principal  duties of this class are performed in both a general office environment and an outdoor environment that may include exposure to adverse weather conditions and to potential  personal danger.
Pay range: Lateral - $23.05/Hr
Entry Level - $21.96/Hr

Additional duties include soil and plant cultivation, pesticide and fertilization applications, cleanup duties and public restroom cleaning and maintenance. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. The principal duties of this class are performed outdoors and may include working in adverse weather conditions and hazards involving the use of power tools, equipment and hazardous chemicals. Starting wage is $12.28/Hr.
